Governments in the region are increasingly looking at indicators of community well-being and environmental health alongside GDP as a measure of a country’s success.
On the other hand, inequality still exists - the uneven and inequitable rollout of COVID-19 vaccines highlighted this issue. Discussions have already begun about how the global economic system, whose purpose is to create the conditions to sustain economic activity, can be adapted to be able to address this challenge.
